Cal. 36. S# 289. Total production of 3 distinct models is estimated at 500. This is 2nd model of which about 100 were made. About 14” overall, 7” octagonal barrel, top strap marked “E SAVAGE. MIDDLETOWN. CT / H.S. NORTH. PATENTED. JUNE 17th, 1856”, tapered round frame, creeping loading lever, unique double action ring trigger when closed forms “figure 8”. Matching numbered parts with “289”: Frame extension (main s#). Barrel, each grip, screw head inside trigger guard, loading ram, lever and it’s housing, cylinder, and action plate that moves the cylinder. CONDITION: good overall, metal has an overall mottled cleaned gray patina, discernible markings, double action mechanically functional, good rifled bore.
